Does Meditation Help Us Find Our True Selves?

Meditating can be a good way of tapping into the subconscious to understand our inner self. It will help us answering questions we have related to life.

Meditation is important in making or deciding the path in which our life should take.  However, we should not be discouraged if we do not seem to get the right answers straight away.

Keep on practicing and in the end, you will finally get the answers. When we are meditating, the brain transforms to a theta state. When we are in this state we encounter very minimal interference from the conscious state of the mind. Thus, we successfully contact the subconscious state of the mind.

Begin by sitting in a place that is very comfortable and a room that has very minimal disturbance. Consider lighting a few candles so that you have minimal light.

Be aware of your breathing.

You should practice deep, controlled breathing that comes from the diaphragm. Breathe in and out, where it is advisable for you to use your nose. Pay attention to your breathing.

As you meditate, your mind becomes engrossed in thoughts.

Pay attention as the thoughts come and go. If there’s a thought that keeps on coming for long, consider digging deeper into that particular thought.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to search for the answers you have been looking for, as your whole being is at ease. Keep in mind that you should not force anything. Do not force the answers but have a receptive and open mind.  This will help you discover yourself better.

      Hi Ket, thanks for stopping by. I used to meditate every single day for 30 min, but now I do it only 3 times per week, trying to get back to every day 🙂 My advise is just start with10 min and only when you have the desire to do it. Then if you like it you can do it more often.

      Hi Ana, when our bodies are relaxed, we are capable of observing the thought that come to our mind. Usually these thoughts are brought to us by our subconsciousness. If a particular though comes over and over again there must be a reason. Either we are stressed about it or we are afraid of it. By digging deeper in it we will find the answer or at least realize that it is pointless of being afraid of it. See our lives are quite busy and full of noise and hustle. Sometimes we don’t even realize the tension. So a quite and fully relaxed meditation helps us recharge. Hope this helps and good luck.
